Box Score Colorado College lost to 18th-ranked Pomona-Pitzer, 20-10, on the first game of its two-game road trip on Thursday night in California.
The Tigers struggled to build offensive momentum against Pomona and were outscored in the first quarter, 6-2.
Olivia Dossett,
Peyton Murphy, and
Bella Scola all scored for CC before the end of the half but were unable to match the seven goals produced by the Sagehens.
A four-goal rally was led by
Tobin Lonergan and Dossett in the final quarter of play, however the Tigers were unable to recover from the early deficit.
The Sagehens outshot CC, 48-23 while the Tigers held the edge in draw controls 17-16. Pomona won the ground ball battle 27-17.
Natalie Slade made 16 saves for the Tigers.
