Maddy Meister won the No. 1 doubles match against 20
th-ranked Southwestern University, but the Colorado College women's tennis team dropped a 5-1 decision to the Pirates on Saturday in an SCAC semifinal match in Georgetown, Texas.

Jensen and Meister posted the first point for CC against Southwestern since 2016 as they defeated the West Region's 10
th-ranked team of Nina Mitrofanova and Alli Ziehm, 8-7, at the top spot. The Pirates won the other two doubles matches, including an 8-4 victory by Daryl Locke and Taylor Despriet over
Magdalene Gonzales and Olivia Dicks at No. 2. Erika Synoski and Emma Kesterson downed
Lindsay Popeo and
Christina Heffron, 8-1, at the No. 3 position.

Southwestern, seeded No. 2 at the tournament, won three singles matches in straight sets to clinch the team match. Sydney Wahl beat Gonzales beat Gonzalez, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 3, Lydia Lee downed
Elizabeth Girian, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 4 and Zeihm defeated Meister, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 5. The other three matches were pulled off the court at that time, including the No. 2 match, where Popeo was leading Kesterson, 6-3, 3-2.

The Tigers, the No. 3 seed, will play the University of St. Thomas in the third-place match on Sunday, April 30, beginning at 11 a.m. (MT).
