The Colorado College men's lacrosse team wrapped up its 2022-23 home slate on Sunday with a dominating 22-3 victory over Centenary College in a Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference game at Washburn Field.
Â
The Tigers, celebrating Senior Day for the Class of 2023, jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the first quarter, led by three goals from
Thomas Power and a pair from senior
Dylan Wells.
Â
Centenary's Mark Temple put the Gents on the board about three minutes into the second quarter, but CC senior
Luca Lietti responded one minute later, followed by a pair from senior
Max Lyski. The Tigers held a 15-2 lead at halftime and never looked back.
Â
Lyski led Colorado College (6-6) with a career-high four goals, followed by Power with three, while seniors
Winston Chodnicki and
Dylan Wells each scored twice. Temple scored all three goals for Centenary (2-9).
Â
Alex Nicks-Davis had 24 saves for the Gents.
"I'm so proud of this senior class, you don't see 15-man senior classes very often," head coach
Mike Horowitz said. "That's a testament to how much they care about each other and the friendships they have built of their four years. I couldn't be happier that the class of 2023 got the Washburn Field send-off they deserve."
Â
The Tigers will play their final regular-season game on Wednesday, April 19 at Division II CSU-Pueblo before participating in the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference Tournament at the end of the month.
