The Colorado College women's tennis team opened its 2023-24 dual match slate with a 6-1 loss to Division II Lubbock Christian University in Pueblo, Colo.
Freshman
Kala Komanduri posted the only victory for CC, a thrilling, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0(10) win over Michelle Trochez at the No. 1 position.
However, the Lady Chaps captured the other five singles matches, all in straight sets.
LCU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by sweeping all three doubles matches. The Tigers fell, 6-1, at the two top spots, while
Lindsay Popeo and
Emmy Winter battled at the No. 3 position, but lost 6-2.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 16, against Dallas Baptist in Pueblo, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
