Four Tigers Score in Double Digits as CC Wins Sixth Straight

;]Four Tigers scored in double digits to bring the Colorado College women's basketball's winning streak to six straight games.

Audrey Bayston, Emma Nawara, Isa Nelson and Rose Koehler scored 10 or more points to down Austin College on Friday night 58-43 in Sherman, TX.

Despite being without leading scorer Zoë Tomlinson, the Tigers outscored the 'Roos by 15 points. All 12 of the Tigers' wins this season have come by 14 points or more. CC closed the game, shooting 71.43 percent in the fourth quarter, including a 12-4 run in the final five minutes.

"This was a huge game, and one with a positive outcome thanks to our two seniors. Audrey and Emma led us in so many ways tonight. Their attention to rebounding, overall composure, and ability to create smart offensive plays made a huge difference," head coach Katherine Auguste said.

Bayston led the way with a season-high 18 points. The senior made three shots from long range and ended the day shooting 42.85 percent from the floor. Nawara scored a career-high 12 points in her first start.

The freshman duo of Isa Nelson and Rose Koehler combined for 21 points and 10 boards. Koehler grabbed a career-high nine rebounds while dishing out five assists and a steal.

"Rose's tough drives down the stretch and Isa's clutch scoring in the paint gave us a huge boost," Auguste said.

CC led the way 10-4 after the first quarter, holding Austin to 14.29 percent shooting. The 'Roos slimmed the margin heading into the halftime break; it was 28-24 at the halfway mark.

In the third, CC shot only 29.4 percent, while Austin shot 46.2 percent and grabbed three more boards than the Tigers. The lead was still four points for CC heading into the final quarter, but that's when the floodgates opened.

The Tigers made 10 of 14 shots in the final 10 minutes and held the "Roos to five made buckets. Nawara led the team with six points and three rebounds in the final quarter. Austin made only two buckets in the last five minutes while CC went on their offensive run to secure the 15-point victory and improve to 6-1 within conference play.

CC is 8-2 in their last 10 games and 17-3 in their previous 20 conference regular season games. The Tigers have the longest win streak in the SCAC and are currently in second place behind Texas Lutheran, CC's only conference loss.

The road trip concludes on Sunday at 2 p.m. MT against the Crusaders of the University of Dallas.
