The Colorado College volleyball team had its six-match winning streak snapped Sunday afternoon with a three-set loss, 25-15, 25-18, 25-20, to Austin College in Sherman, Texas, in a battle of the top two teams in the Blue Division of the SCAC.

With the victory, Austin improved to 12-6 overall and 5-0 in the SCAC, while the Tigers are now 8-7 and 4-1.

The 'Roos jumped out to a 7-3 lead early in the first set, but kills by
Brooke Brilliant Camille Sherrill,
Kaylie Stuteville and
Carolyn Dormady closed the gap to 10-9. Austin then produced a 7-1 run to take a 17-10 advantage and never really looked back.

The Tigers held a 14-10 lead in the third set, but allowed seven straight points by the 'Roos and CC never led again.

Dormady led the Tigers with 10 kills, followed by Brilliant with nine and Sherrill and
Steph Brown with seven apiece.

Annie Steger collected 32 assists and had 10 digs, one fewer than Sherrill.

The Tigers return to action next weekend with three SCAC matches in Houston, Texas, beginning on Friday, Oct. 11, against St. Thomas at 6 p.m. (CT) Â
