The Colorado College men's soccer team had five players named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region X First Team, announced on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd. Seniors
Curtis Hale,
Alexander Ward,
Will Bavier, junior
Rex Karjian and sophomore
Alex Wolter were all selected for their success during the 2024 season.
CC had the most names selected to the first team, with three first-time appearances.
Hale was named one of the best in the region for the third time in his career (2022 and 2023), and Bavier was named an all-region selection for the second consecutive year after earning a second-team nod in 2023.
Hale caps his CC career with his third-straight All-Region First-Team nod; the Richmond, Va. native can put that on his resume next to 3x SCAC Defensive Player of the Year and 3x All SCAC selection. Hale started all 22 matches and led the Tigers with 1,925 minutes.
He racked up a career-high eight points (2g, 4a), directed the CC defense that finished second in the nation in goals-against average (1.828) and finished the season with shutouts.
Bavier played and started in all 22 matches this season and was fourth on the team with 1,468 minutes. The Cambridge, Mass native commanded the CC midfield and finished the year with six points (2g, 2a).
Alexander Ward will finish his Tiger career with 87 matches played, including 19 this season. The Portland native tied for second on the team with 15 points (6g, 3a). Ward took 45 shots (23 on goal), the second most in a season in his career. He earned All-SCAC First Team honors earlier this year for the first time in his tenure.
Goalkeeper
Alex Wolter, who received All-SCAC First Team recognition a few weeks ago, has been named first-team all-region for his sophomore year. He finished the season with a 0.82 goals-against average and 30 saves, going 7-3-2 and recording five shutouts.
Rex Karjian played a vital role for the Tigers this year over the entire pitch length. He finished the season with 1,616 minutes played and was first on the team and in the conference with 10 assists. He also racked up a goal and 11 shots.
