James Settles broke his own school record in the 10,000-meter race Thursday night at the WashU Distance Carnival.

Settles, running his first 10K of the season, finished 15
th with a time of 29:46.9, shattering his previous school record of 30:20.8, set last season at the KT Woodman Classic.
"I am happy for James that he broke his own record tonight," head coach
Katie Bretscher said. "It was ideal conditions for him to run fast."

The fastest of the four 10K heats was on Thursday, so seniors
Devlin Swanson,
Ayden Cherry and
Brett Kitazono will run he 10K on Friday night in St. Louis, while the rest of the CC men's track and field team will compete at the CSU-Pueblo Open on Saturday, March 30, in Pueblo.
