Accetta Paces Three Tigers at WashU Distance Carnival

Three members of the Colorado College women's track and field team competed Thursday night at the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Mo.

Senior Kendall Accetta posted CC's best result by placing fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:45.83.

Meanwhile, sophomore Alison Mueller-Hickler finished 16th in the first 10K of her career with a time of 35:48.71 and junior Eliot Singer placed 31st in 37.22.99.

"We had so many amazing performances today," head coach Katie Bretscher said. "We targeted this meet because it has a reputation of competitive distance races. Several of the team's results would have qualified for nationals last year. It is still early in the season so it is hard to say where these performances will be on the national list in May. However, the athletes who competed tonight put themselves in a really good position."

The rest of the Colorado College squad will compete in the CSU-Pueblo Open on Saturday, March 30, in Pueblo.
