Two indoor school records were set and
Luc Santos won the 3,000 steeplechase at the outdoor Southwestern Invitational Saturday as the Colorado College men's track and field teams split their squads.

Seven athletes competed at the Wartburg Indoor Qualifier in Waverly, Iowa, while the rest were at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, for the season-opening outdoor meet, which was suspended due to weather after a couple of events were completed.

Allison Barker smashed her own 800-meter record at the Wartburg Qualifier, finishing the race in 10
th place with a time of 2:14.78, surpassing her previous record of 2:18.26 from earlier this spring. Barker then joined
Clara Lippert,
Clara Kirr and
Thalia Goessling to set a school record in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:02.35.

Also at the Wartburg meet,
Alison Mueller-Hickler finished second in the women's 5K with a time of 17:14.07, while
Clara Lippert was eighth in the 200 in 26.55 seconds.

Meanwhile,
Josh Williams finished third in the men's 400 with a time of 49.67 and sixth in the 200 in 21.97.

At the Southwestern Invitational, Santos won the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase race with a time of 9:49,93, while
Lincoln Brewer was fourth in the 1500 with a time of 4:15.98.

On the women's side,
Hannah Falk finished third in the 3K steeplechase in 12:08.00, followed by
Liz White in fifth,
Ellie Ottem in sixth and
Emilia Weinrobe in seventh.
Abby Goulas placed fourth in the 1500 with a tie of 5:02.97.
