The Colorado College women's tennis team fell to Division II Metro State, 8-1, Saturday afternoon at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs.

The Roadrunners jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles matches. CC's No. 2 doubles team of
Christina Heffron and
Lindsay Popeo nearly got a point before losing 8-7(5) to Hanna Haber and Kambra Roles.

Popeo captured the Tigers' lone singles win by rallying to defeat Roles, 5-7, 6-3, 1-0(10) at the No. 4 position. The Nos. 5 and 6 matches also went the distance as CC's
Gigi Jensen fell to Courtenay Leonard, 4-6, 7-6(5), 1-0(3) at No. 5 and
Emmy Winter dropped a 7-6(5), 3-6, 1-0(7) decision to Makayla McKenzie at No. 6.

Metro State won the top three singles matches in straight sets.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 13, against Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo., beginning at 9 a.m.
