The Colorado College women's tennis team won at the top two singles spots against Division II Colorado Mesa, but fell to the Mavericks, 5-2, in Grand Junction.
 
CMU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by sweeping the doubles matches. The top two matches each had a 6-1 result, while Elizabeth Girian and Abby Wilson lost to Kristen Thomas and Delia Maier, 6-2, at No. 3.
 
Kala Komanduri captured the No. 1 singles match, 7-5, 6-3, over Issy Coman, while Avery Hickman rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0(3) victory over Makenna Livingston.
 
Lindsay Popeo stretched Julianna Campos to three sets before falling, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0(5), at No. 4, while Colorado Mesa won the other three matches in straight sets.  
 
The Tigers return to action against SCAC opponents on Friday, April 19, against St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, beginning at 12 p.m. (CT).
