Kendall Accetta advanced to the final of the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase for the second time in three years Thursday evening at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Accetta, who finished seventh in the race in 2022 to earn All-America honors, placed fifth in her heat on Thursday with a school-record time of 10:38.73, the 10
th-fastest time among the 22 runners.
It was a great start to the championship," head coach
Katie Bretscher said. "Kendall ran a very smart race, and we are thrilled that she made the finals tomorrow."

She will run in the final on Friday, May 24, at 7 p.m. (ET).

Meanwhile, sophomore
Josh Williams competed in his first race at the Championship Meet on Thursday, finishing the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.92 seconds.
"Josh is coming back from an injury and it is great to see him back on the track racing again," Bretscher said.

Williams will run in the men's 400-meter dash preliminaries on Friday at 5:15 p.m. (ET).
