The Colorado College men's cross country team split its squad Saturday and competed at the John McNichols Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind., and the Metro State Invitational in Denver.

The Tigers finished 12
th among Division III teams at the John McNichols Invitational.

Sophomore
Will Shuflit led the Tigers for the second consecutive race, finishing
within 16th place, covering the 8K course in 24:48.9. Freshman
Vincent Mangat followed in 73
rd-place with a personal-best time of 25:34.0.

Junior
Axel Klomparens placed 93
rd in 25:42.4, followed by freshman
Diego Escalante, who finished 133
rd with a time of 26:01.4 in his inaugural collegiate competition. Senior
Luc Santos rounded out the scoring for CC in 228
th place in 26:46.7.

"We had a great day," head coach
Alex Nichols said. "There were a lot of personal best times and very encouraging results. This is a young team but they showed they can mix it up with other nationally ranked programs."

At the Metro State Invitational, competing against Division I and Division II runners, junior
Ethan Castette paced the Tigers with a 111
th-place finish, covering the 8K course in 27:27.42. Freshman
Brady Koch placed 124
th (27:50.01), followed by sophomore
Mack Levy in 130
th (28:05.54).
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 5, when they host the Ted Castaneda Classic at North Monument Valley Park, beginning at 10 a.m.
