"Our effort on defense tonight what it needs to be – we were focused on guarding at and behind the arc and that paid off down the stretch. We had some great momentum-generating moments on the defensive side, including Willa [McLaughlin]'s blocks in key moments," head coach
Katherine Auguste said.
CC's defense held Austin College to only 33.3 percent from the floor, including 27.78 percent in the first half and 23.08 percent in the third. The Tigers held the Roos to only 11.1 percent from three-point range (1-9).

CC cooled off offensively for the remainder of the game but continued its dominance on the defensive end.

"Laura led the way with offensive boards on the offensive side and gave us tons of energy via those extra possessions," Auguste said. "Kyle's three-pointers were huge, Isa being aggressive helped a ton, and as a team, we valued the basketball tonight."
CC improved to 8-1 in conference play and 3-2 on the road. On Sunday, at noon MT, the Tigers will travel to Irving, Texas, to take on the University of Dallas.
