The No. 24 Colorado College women's basketball team rolled over the University of Dallas 69-48 on Sunday, improving to 17-2 on the year and 9-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Kayla Mackel continued her impressive run of form, leading all scorers with 21 points, followed by
Avery Johnson with a career-high 15 points and senior
Zoë Tomlinson with 12. Before this game, Tomlinson needed 19 rebounds to set the all-time SCAC rebound record. She notched 13, bringing her within six of the milestone.Â

The Tigers outrebounded the Crusaders 42-31, limiting them to only 32 percent from the floor.

Laura Strenk opened the scoring for CC off an assist from sophomore
Isa Nelson. The Tigers and the Crusaders traded points, but CC retained the lead throughout. The first quarter ended 16-11. Johnson led the quarter with seven points, while Nelson notched three assists.Â

The second quarter was more of the same. CC and Dallas traded points, but the Tigers retained a lead. Mackel led with 12 points, and the Tigers shot 56.3 percent from the field, up from their first-quarter mark of 36.8 percent.

In the third, CC's lead never fell below 14 points, and it remained at at least 18 after a Johnson layup midway through. Mackel led in points and Tomlinson had five rebounds.Â

The Tigers ran away with it in the fourth, employing their substitutes who stepped up and maintained the healthy lead until the end of the game. Sophomore Juju Garcia came off the bench and played all 10 minutes. Senior
Kyle Rowland led fourth-quarter scoring with five points, netting 100% of the shots she attempted. Â

If the Tigers, who currently sit at No. 24 in the D3hoops.com national poll, still remain atop the SCAC rankings with a 9-1 record.

The win moves CC's win to six straight and an emphatic follow-up to their 59-45 victory over Austin College the previous Friday.

The Tigers return home next weekend to face the same two opponents again, starting with Austin College on Friday, Feb. 7 at Reid Arena.
