The Colorado College men's soccer team swept the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer major awards for the 2025 season.
CC won all three major player awards, along with the Coaching Staff of the Year. It's the first time in program history the Tigers have swept all four major awards.
"I'm thrilled to see so many of our players represented on our all-conference teams," head coach
Scott Palguta said. "It's a terrific reward for a successful regular season. We hope the players carry their good form into post-season play tomorrow!"
Palguta, along with assistant coaches
Kevin Doyle,
Tomas Martinez and
Dan Highstead, was named the Co-Coaching Staff of the Year. It's the third-straight season Palguta and his staff have won the award and the fourth overall time of his career.
Sophomore
Teddy Opler was named the Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference with 31 points. He was second with 13 goals and tied for fifth with five assists. Opler led the conference with 49 shots.
The Wyoming native had three multi-goal games, including his first career hat trick against Dallas in the regular season finale. Opler was named the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week twice and is the first Tiger since 2012 to win the award.
Senior captain
Rex Karjian was named Defensive Player of the Year after starting in 16 games and leading the CC defense to a conference-best goals-against average of 0.53. Karjian also led the SCAC with 11 assists.
Karjian is the fourth Tiger in a row to win the award, as former captain
Curtis Hale won the award for three straight seasons.
Freshman
Ewen Robertson is the Newcomer of the Year after leading the entire conference with 14 goals. The Concord, Mass. native lit the stat sheet on fire with a four-game goal streak to start his college career.
He collected his first career hat trick, and the first for CC since 2019, on Oct. 24 against McMurry in a 10-0 victory. Robertson was second in the conference with 30 points behind
Teddy Opler and third in shots with 44.
Robertson, Karjian and Opler were all named All-SCAC First Team selections, along with juniors
Alex Wolter,
Dylan Stapley,
Jack Hilliard and sophomore
Will Jones.
It's Karjian's third career All-SCAC nod after being named a second-team selection in 2024. It's Opler's second time receiving all-conference honors.
Jack Hilliard got his name listed as an All-SCAC selection for the third-straight year after logging six assists (third in the SCAC) and 39 shots (second in the SCAC). Hilliard was named a second-team selection in 2024 and is the former Newcomer of the Year.
Goalkeeper
Alex Wolter earned First-Team honors for the second-straight season after leading the conference and tying for first in the nation with 10 shutouts.
Dylan Stapley earned all-conference honors for the second time in his career after playing and starting in 15 matches, logging 1,328 minutes. Stapley helped lead the best defense in the conference, which allowed the fewest goals all year.
Will Jones also earned All-SCAC honors for the first time in his career. The Colorado Springs native is second in the conference with seven assists and fifth on the team with 11 points. Jones has logged four assists in the last three games, including a career-high two assists against McMurry on Oct. 24th.
