No. 21 CC Enters SCAC Tournament As No. 1 Seed In Blue Division

The No. 21 Colorado College women's basketball team looks to win its first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament title this weekend in Irving, Texas. The Tigers (23-2, 15-1, SCAC) have a first-round bye and will face Texas Lutheran on Saturday at 11 am MT. 
 
This year's tournament is hosted by the University of Dallas. 
 
Last Time Out
 
CC completed a perfect season at home (13-0) after defeating Schreiner and Trinity last weekend. On Friday against the Mountaineers, CC had three players reach double-digits and shot 47.4 percent from long range. Senior Zoë Tomlinson notched another double-double with 20 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and four steals. 
 
Two days later, on Senior Day against Trinity, the Tigers brought their win streak to 12 straight and was 23-2 (15-1 SCAC) to end the regular season. The four seniors showed up on Senior Day. Tomlinson, Healy Bledsoe, Kyle Rowland and Laura Strenk combined for 44 points. Tomlinson led the way with 27 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and a steal.
 
23 Wins Is Good, Right?  
 
CC is in the middle of its best season in program history regarding wins. The Tigers have never won 23 games in a season and are also winners of 12 straight, the longest win streak since 1976-77. 
 
The Tigers won the SCAC Blue Division title, enter the weekend as the No. 1 seed, and have a bye for the quarterfinal round. It's CC's first-ever SCAC regular season title. 
 
CChadd five 20-win seasons before this yea,r, including last season's 20-8 record. The Tigerreachedto the SCAC Tournament title game but lost to Trinity. 
 
Looking To Break A Streak
 
The Tigers have made it to four consecutive SCAC Tournament championship games but have yet to win it all. All four losses since 2021 have been against Trinity. 
 
CC is 15-1 in SCAC play this season, with its only loss coming to Texas Lutheran on Jan. 12. Last year, CC was able to avenge a regular-season loss to the Bulldogs by downing TLU in the semifinals of the SCAC Tournament. 
 
Scouting The Opposition
 
TLU enters the weekend with a record of 21-4 (14-2 SCAC). It's the first time in program history the Bulldogs have won 20 or more games. TLU's 8-0The  start was the best startfor SCAC toC play for Texas Lutheran since joining the conference in 2013-14. The Bulldogs are receiving votes in the D3hoops.com national polls. 

The Bulldogs defeated the University of the Ozarks 63-55 in overtime in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
