The Colorado College women's tennis team opened its spring season with a 4-3 victory over Seward County Community College Saturday afternoon at the Garden of the Gods Club in Colorado Springs

CC jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by winning two of the three doubles matches. Freshmen
Amelia Karr and
Lucia Moravek won the No. 2 match, 7-6(5), over Elena Oborocea and Alejandra Ramirez, while the No. 3 team of
Avery Hickman and
Lindsay Popeo won by default.

The teams split the six singles matches, including a default win by Karr at the No. 6 spot. Moravek downed Oborocea, 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot, while
Aspen Young rolled past Ramirez, 6-2, 6-1.

The Tigers return to action on Friday, Feb. 21, against Metro State at Lifetime Fitness in Colorado Springs, beginning at 6 p.m.
