Colorado College won three of the four SCAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week after outstanding performances at the Oxy Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic last Saturday in Los Angeles.
 
Will Shuflit was named Men's Track Athlete of the Week following his victory on the 5K race with a time of 14:14.25. The sophomore outpaced 208 runners to win the race.
 
Meanwhile, freshman Oliver Smeal was selected as Men's Field Athlete of the Week after breaking the school record in the javelin. He won the event with a toss of 166' 9", surpass­ing the previous record of 164' 4" by Tim Hebert in 1991. Smeal was also a member of the third-place 4x100 relay and finished 10th in the 100.
 
For the women, reigning SCAC 5K champion Isabel Olson broke the school record in the 5K. A Division III All-American in cross country last fall, Olson finished second overall in Saturday's race and was the first collegiate finisher with a time of 16:48.94, surpassing the old mark of 16:54.12 set by Kendall Accetta last season.
 
The Tigers return to action on March 22, at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invite on the campus of CSU-Pueblo.
