Iler Scores Career-High Six Goals, Leads No. 19 Tigers Past Lynx

The No. 19 Colorado College women's lacrosse team extended its win streak to three straight with a decisive 18-7 victory over Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. 
 
CC was again led by sophomore Charlotte Iler, who scored a career-high six goals and finished with seven points and an assist. 
 
The Tigers outshot the Lynx 26-18 and had players score multiple goals. Sophomore Sofia Mancino dished a season-high three goals and matched her career-high six points with three assists. Senior Peyton Murphy also recorded a hat trick and an assist. 
 
Freshman Riley Sterling recorded a career-high three points with two goals and an assist. 
 
The team traded goals in the game's first five minutes before the Tigers regained the lead and five unanswered goals over three minutes. Iler scored CC's first three goals before Sterling notched her first with 9:00 left to make it 4-1. Sophomore Meilani Molina capped the run with a goal after an assist from Oliv Janerico
 
Iler and Murphy scored again for CC before th end of the first quarter as the Tigers led 8-2 going into the second. 
 
CC built on its lead, tallying another six goals before the half that started with Mancino scoring back-to-back less than a minute from another for the second-straight game.
 
 Murphy scored on a woman-up opportunity with 8:19 remaining before Mancino got her third goal to put CC up 13-3 with 5:00 remaining. Junior Grace Bean added another score before the half, and the Tigers led 14-4 at the break. 
 
With a running clock, the Tigers kept their distance from the Lynx with goals from junior Tobin Lonergan and sophomore Meghan Collins, her first of the season. 
 
Murphy collected her third goal in the fourth, and Sterling scored her second to seal the 18-7 victory. 
 
Molina and Ella Ros led the team with three draw controls each, and Hannah Sweeney gathered a career-high four ground balls, which led the team. 
 
Goaltender Cassidy Schnaufer improved to 4-1 on the year after making seven saves. Sophomore Kathryn Mahoney made her season debut in the cage and played eight minutes. 
 
The Tigers have Saturday off before taking on DePauw University on Sunday, March 16th, at 9 am MT in Memphis.
