Tigers Win Two Singles Matches But Fall to No. 29 Cal Tech

Kala Komanduri and Aspen Young each won her singles match, but it wasn't enough as the Colorado College women's tennis team fell to No. 29 Cal Tech, 5-2, Saturday in Pasadena.
 
Cal Tech jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after sweeping the three doubles matches. CC's No. 2 team of Komanduri and Amelia Karr put together the best effort for the Tigers before falling, 7-5, to Hannah Ramsperger and Payal Patel.
 
Komanduri kept her momentum into the singles competition, defeating Ramsperger, 6-4, 6-2, at the No. 3 position, while Young downed Anika Arora, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, at the No. 5 spot.
 
Cal Tech won the other four singles matches in straight sets.
 
The Tigers return to action on Monday, March 17, against 22nd-ranked Redlands in Redlands, Calif., beginning at 5 p.m. (PT).
