The Colorado College women's tennis team played a valiant match Monday afternoon, but was edged by 22
nd-ranked University of Redlands, 4-3, in Redlands, Calif.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after winning the Nos. 1 and 3 doubles matches.
Lucia Moravek and
Aspen Young defeated Deja Brown and Maegan Deng, 7-5, at the top spot, while
Avery Hickman and
Ally Lowe won the No. 3 match, 6-2, over Lindsey Whelan and Vrishitha Sambathkumar.

In singles
Kala Komanduri and Young each won for the second consecutive match. Komanduri beat Brown, 6-3, 6-4, at the No. 3 position, while Young improved to 6-0 in dual matches with a 6-4, 6-2, victory over Christina O'Brien at the No. 5 spot.

Moravek lost in two tiebreakers to Whelan at No. 4, while
Lindsay Popeo took Sambathkumar to three sets at the No. 6 spot before falling, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, March 18, against 10
th-ranked Amherst in Redlands, Calif., beginning at 10 a.m. (PT).
