The Colorado College women's tennis team captured the first victory during its spring break trip Thursday with a 5-2 win over Cal Lutheran in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

The Regals jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches.
Avery Hickman and
Ally Lowe produced the best result for CC, dropping the No. 3 match, 6-4, to Luisa Garcia and Anya Rajan.

The Tigers rallied by winning five of the six singles matches. Lowe fell to Mari Carmen Bufkin, 6-0, 6-3, at the top spot, but
Kala Komanduri started the rally with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Rajan at No. 2, 6-2, 6-3.

Hickman followed suit by dominating Madison Ford, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 3 and
Aspen Young dropped the first set to Kylee Limpias before winning, 5-3, 6-1, 6-1.

Lucia Moravek beat Garcia, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 5, while
Lindsay Popeo routed Evelyn Oltmans, 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 6 spot.

The Tigers play their final match in California on Friday, March 21, against UC Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz, Calif., beginning at 5 p.m. (PT).
