The Colorado College women's tennis team won its second consecutive match Friday with a 5-2 win over UC Santa Cruz in Santa Cruz, Calif.

The Tigers took an early 1-0 lead after winning two of the three doubles matches.
Kala Komanduri and
Amelia Karr captured the No. 2 match, 6-3, over Chloe Wu and Meghana Damojipurapu, while
Avery Hickman and
Ally Lowe downed Melody Ghaffari and Sweden Van Houten, 6-2, at the No. 3 spot.

Colorado College kept its momentum going in singles by winning four of the six matches. Lowe fell to Sara Beckman, 6-2, 6-2, at the top spot, but Komanduri won the No. 2 match, 6-3, 6-1 win over Natalie Sprenger.

Hickman dropped a tough, three-set match to Damojipurapu, 6-3, 1-6, 7-6, at No. 3, but
Aspen Young won her ninth straight singles match with a 6-4, 6-3, win over Wu at the No. 4 spot.

Lucia Moravek rallied to beat Ghaffari, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 5, while
Lindsay Popeo beat Julia Azzi, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1, at the No. 6 spot.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 5, against Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo., beginning at 1:30 p.m.
