The Colorado College women's tennis team gave everything it had Saturday but fell just short to Division II Colorado Mesa, 4-3, in Grand Junction, Colo.  
 
The Tigers, ranked 40
th in Division III, took an early 1-0 lead after winning two of the three doubles matches. 
Kala Komanduri and 
Amelia Karr captured the No. 2 match, 6-4, over Makenna Livingston and Delia Maier, while 
Avery Hickman and 
Ally Lowe downed Catalina Ballon and Audrey Orear, 6-3, at the No. 3 spot.
 
The teams split the first two matches off the court, and after Lindsay Popes defeated Bollon, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5, CC held a 2-1 lead.
 
The top three singles matches went the distance, and Mesa captured two of them. Livingston beat Komanduri, 6-4, 0-6, 1-0(4) at the top spot, while Lowe rallied to down Devyn Rodriguez, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0(5).
 
With Mesa winning comfortably at the No. 6 spot, the team match came down to the No. 3 match. Mesa' Jade Brilhante and CC's 
Aspen Young traded a pair of 6-1 sets before Brilhante pulled out a 10-8 decision in the third-set tiebreak.
 
Jane Steur completed the Mesa victory with a 6-2, 6-2, victory over 
Abby Wilson at No. 6.
 
The Tigers return to action on Sunday, April 6, against Division II Metro State in Denver, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
