The No. 25 Colorado College women's basketball team will make its second-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament on Friday in Whitewater, Wisconsin. The Tigers will look for its first-ever win in the big dance when they take on UW-La Crosse at 4:30 pm CT.

History In The Making
CC made its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 1990 and lost in a battle against Concordia Moorhead. The Tigers are playing for the first time in the big dance in 35 years after racking up a program-record 23 wins and a regular season Southern Collegiate Conference Blue Division title.
For the first time since the 1981 season, the Tigers reached 20 wins for consecutive seasons and went a program record 13-0 at home. CC won the SCAC Blue Division title in the regular season and was the No. 1 seed in the SCAC Tournament.
Last Time Out
CC fell to eventual SCAC Tournament champion No. 24 Texas Lutheran in the conference tournament's semifinals.
Senior
Zoë Tomlinson led the team with 20 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals. Junior
Kayla Mackel followed with 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
TLU held CC to only 32.8 percent shooting while making 43.9 percent of its shots from the floor. The Bulldogs had four players score in double-digits. The Bulldogs later defeated Trinity (TX) in the championship game.
All Conference Nods
Tomlinson was named the SCAC Player of the Year and the Defensive Player of the Year, marking the second player in conference history to win both awards in the same year.
The New York native was also named an All-SCAC first-team selection after leading the conference in both total points and rebounds (358) and points (22.9) and rebounds (13.8) per game. Tomlinson is the league's career leader in rebounds with 1,268. Her career average of 11.84 boards per game is the highest in league history.
Mackel earned her second all-conference selection by being named a second-team honoree. The Houston native was eighth in the SCAC in points per game and first overall in three-pointers made with 66.

Scouting The Opposition
CC plays UW-La Crosse (16-11) in the first round and will look to play the winner of the UW-Whitewater and Principia matchup in the second round on Saturday. UW-Whitewater was selected as the host site for the weekend.
The Eagles are making their sixth appearance in the national tournament. Their last one came in 2020 when they earned an at-large bid but fell to Loras College (Iowa) in the first round.
La Crosse fell to UW-Oshkosh in the semifinals of the WIAC Tournament last weekend.
Host UW-Whitewater defeated UW-Oshkosh in the WIAC Tournament championship game to earn an automatic bid and finish the regular season 22-6. The Warhawks have appeared in nine consecutive NCAA Tournaments and have 23 total appearances in their history.
Principia College (17-11) was the SLIAC Tournament championship for the automatic bid into the dance. The Panthers defeated Webster University 69-67 for its first-ever conference title.
