Oliver Smeal each set a school record for the Colorado College men's track & field team on Saturday.

Williams set a new mark in the 400 at the Wartburg Indoor Final Qualifier Meet with a time of 48.95, while Smeal, a freshman, broke the javelin mark at the outdoor season-opening Oxy Distance Classic. He won the event with a toss of 166'10", surpassing the previous record of 164'4" by Tim Hebert in 1991.

The Tigers captured two other first-place finishes at the Oxy Meet.
Will Shuflit won the 5K with a time of 14:14.25, while
Vincent Mangat won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:30.63.
Luc Santos finished second in the steeplechase with a time of 9:38.58.

The 4x100 relay team of
Chase Marks,
Holden Perry,
Tyson Robertson and Smeal finished third in 42.72 seconds, while
Rabbit Barnes was the runner-up in the 1500 (3:50.97),
Will Nakahara placed fourth in the 800 (1:52.86),
Owen Shi was fourth in the shot put (44'5"),
Griffin Stewart seventh in the long jump (20'4.5") and Perry eighth in the 100 (11.15 seconds).

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, March 22, at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invitational at CSU-Pueblo.
