Colorado College sophomore Kala Komanduri has been selected the SCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week after helping the Tigers defeat Division II Colorado Mesa for the first time in 16 years.
 
Komanduri pulled off one of the biggest victories in her career, defeating Makenna Livingston, 6-3, 6-7(5), 1-0(9), at the No. 1 position to clinch snap CC's 18-match losing streak to CMU and post its first win over the Mavericks since April 10, 2009. Livingston was ranked No. 67 in Division II for singles entering the match.
 
The Dallas, Texas, product is 6-5 this season in dual matches, including a 2-3 mark at the No. 1 spot.
 
The Tigers return to action with a pair of SCAC matches in Georgetown, Texas, this weekend. They will face Concordia University on Friday, April 18, and Southwestern University on Sunday, April 20.
