No. 18 Tigers Roll Past Pointers & Pirates To Sweep Double-Header

Game 1 - Colorado College 23, UW-Stevens Point 1 
 
Senior Tobin Lonergan and Charlotte Iler led the team with four goals and two assists each. For Lonergan, it's a season-high, and Iler's fifth time this season scoring four or more goals in a game. 
 
Sophomore Sofia Mancio recorded another hat trick, she's now at seven this season after getting two on Saturday. 
 
Murphy ended the day with three goals and a team-high three assists. The Austin native made the return to her home state memorable as she finished with four shots, two ground balls and a caused turnover. She was named the WIAC Offensive Player of the Week last week and is on a six-game multi-goal streak. 
 
The 23 goals matched a season-high for CC, matching last week's outing against Hamline. 
 
CC dropped its first 10 goals in the opening quarter while the Pointers scored their first and only. Peyton Murphy broke the scoreless tie two minutes and three seconds after the first draw control. 
 
Iler, Mancino and Lonergan scored their firsts shortly after. Lonergan and Murphy had hat tricks by the end of the opening frame. 
 
Iler dotted two more to open up the second quarter. The freshmen pair of Grace Weber and Emlia Calamari also scored in the second as CC led 18-1 at the halftime break. 
 
With a running clock, the Tigers scored five more times in the second half, including the first career goals for both Hannahs. Senior Hannah Sweeney and sophomore Hannah Lay each found the back of the net for the first time in their Tiger careers as CC cruised to the 23-1 victory. 
 
Game 2 - Colorado College 23, Southwestern 1
 
Freshman Grace Weber collected her first career hat trick as her Sofia Mancio and Charlotte Iler all scored three goals. Iler led the team with five points with two assists and finished with two ground balls. 
 
Oliv Janerico and Melani Molina each had two goals and two assists. Ella Roe dished a season-high three points with a goal and an assist. 
 
Murphy led the team with two caused turnovers and had a goal, three assists and a ground ball. 
 
CC put up a season-high 14 goals in the first quarter and outshot Southwestern 15-2. Iler scored 40 seconds into the game and the Tigers never trailed in 120 minutes of lacrosse on Saturday. 
 
Iler had the hat trick by the end of the first Mancino got hers in the fourth and Weber got hers in the third quarter. 
 
CC ended the day outscoring its opponents 46-2. The Tigers have scored 23 goals in three of their last four games and have won six straight games. During the win streak, CC has outscored its foes 117-19. 
 
The Tigers finish the weekend on Sunday in another WIAC matchup against UW-River Falls at 10 am MT.
