Brooke Brilliant added 10 to lead the Colorado College volleyball team to a three-set sweep over Univ. of St. Thomas in a battle fir first place in the SCAC's Gold Division.

Annie Joo had a match-high 20 assists as the Tigers downed UST, 25-20, 25-23, 25-21, victory to improve to 10-3 overall and 3-0 in the SCAC. Alexis Bodurin led UST (12-2, 2-1 SCAC) with 12 kills.

The Tigers, who are tied with Schreiner atop the Gold Division with a perfect 3-0 league record, jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first set, but the Celts fought back to even the score at 8-all. Then took a 11-9 lead.

However, CC scored nine of the next 11 points, thanks to two aces from
Meghan Gannon and one from Sherrill, to take commanding 18-13 advantage, and closed out the first set with a Sherrill ace.

The second set was a back-and-forth affair until the Tigers captured the final four points, three of them kills from Brilliant, to win 25-23.

The third set was close again, with UST holding a 20-19 advantage before CC closed out the match by winning six of the last seven points, including a pair of kills from Brilliant and one from Sherrill and Carilyn Dormady apiece.

Nyah Flores equaled her career-high with 14 digs, followed by Sherrill with 13 and Dormady with 11. Dormady added eight kills and is two shy of reaching the 1,000-career mark.

The Tigers travel to Houston, Texas, next weekend to continue SCAC play against the University of Dallas and Austin College on Saturday and Hendrix College on Sunday.
