CC Falls Just Short Against Concordia (TX)

Colorado College competed with one of the top teams in the conference Friday night, building a double-digit halftime lead before Concordia (TX) used a strong second half to secure an 84–80 win in Austin.

CC carried a 46–33 advantage into halftime after shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 5-of-14 from three-point range in the opening 20 minutes. CC scored 26 points in the paint in the first half and held CTX to 30.8 percent shooting, including 3-of-14 from beyond the arc.

The Tornadoes outscored CC 51–34 in the second half. Concordia went 23-for-26 at the free-throw line after halftime and finished 27-for-30 for the game. CC went 1-of-11 from three-point range in the second half after shooting 35.7 percent from deep before the break.

Senior Asher Nofziger led CC with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Ty Hendler, senior Russell MacFarlane and freshman Terrion Benson each scored 10, while junior Orion Samikoglu added nine off the bench. CC finished with 35 bench points and 48 points in the paint.

CC finished with 48 points in the paint and 15 fast-break points, competing effectively in the interior throughout. Concordia's ability to convert at the free-throw line and generate 28 points off turnovers ultimately proved decisive in a tightly contested conference matchup.

The Tigers fall to 7-11 (5-4 SCAC) on the season and will close out the weekend with a matchup against Texas Lutheran on Saturday at 3 p.m. MT in Seguin, Texas.
