Tigers Prepare For Final Home Weekend

Colorado College returns to action this weekend with a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference crossover games, hosting Centenary on Friday at 7:30 p.m. MT before welcoming LeTourneau on Sunday at 2 p.m. MT. 

Last Time Out
CC is coming off a 63-53 victory over Texas Lutheran on Feb. 15 at Stephens Family Arena. JuJu Garcia recorded a career-high 15 points with five three-pointers, while Isa Nelson added 14 points and Rayna Welsch posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. CC held TLU to just six points in the first quarter and led by as many as 21 points in the home win.

At the Helm
Through 23 games, CC is 18-5 overall and leads the SCAC Gold Division at 13-1 in conference play. The Tigers are averaging 64.2 points per game while allowing 56.1 and hold a plus-3.7 rebounding margin. Kayla Mackel leads CC at 14.9 points per game, while Welsch averages 12.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest. Nelson adds 8.7 points per game. Senior Andie Will leads the team with 66 assists. 

Mackel enters the weekend 22 points shy of becoming the 17th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points.

Scouting the Opposition
Centenary enters the weekend 3-20 overall and 2-12 in SCAC play. The Ladies average 50.0 points per game while allowing more than 72 points per contest and shoot 33.6 percent from the field. Centenary averages 35.2 rebounds per game.

LeTourneau is 5-18 overall and 2-12 in conference play and averages 61.1 points per game while allowing 69.2. The Yellow Jackets shoot 35.8 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from three-point range. Kylie Weeks leads LeTourneau at 11.9 points per game, while Mariana Espinosa averages 11.4 points and 5.7 rebounds.

The Weekend Ahead
CC enters the weekend atop the Gold Division standings and can clinch the division title with one win. The Tigers are also pursuing their third consecutive 20-win season, which would mark the program's first stretch of three straight 20-win campaigns since the 1980-81 season.
