The Colorado College women's basketball team earned the No. 1 seed from the Gold Division and a first-round bye into Saturday's semifinal of the 2026 SCAC Women's Basketball Tournament. CC will face either No. 2 seed Hendrix or No. 3 seed McMurry at 5 p.m. (CT) at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas.
The winner advances to Sunday's championship game at 2 p.m.
CC enters postseason play averaging 65.9 points per game while allowing just 55.7 points per contest. The Tigers are shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 30.3 percent from three-point range, while outrebounding opponents 41.4 to 36.1 per game. Defensively, CC has limited teams to 34.8 percent shooting on the season.
LAST TIME OUT
CC closed the regular season in dominant fashion with an 82–53 Senior Day victory over LeTourneau inside Reid Arena, securing the Tigers' 20th win of the season. CC raced out to a 20–5 lead after one quarter and carried a 42–21 advantage into halftime en route to a strong all-around performance.
Freshman Iliana Greene led the Tigers with a career-high 16 points, including three three-pointers. Senior Kayla Mackel added 12 points and five rebounds, while senior Avery Johnson anchored the interior with a game-high 11 boards as CC finished with a commanding 48–24 rebounding edge.
The win marked CC's third consecutive 20-win season for the first time since the 1980-81 season.Â
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
If CC faces No. 2 seed Hendrix, the Tigers would meet one of the conference's most physical and rebounding-focused teams. The Warriors average 66.1 points per game and lead the league with 45.8 rebounds per contest, while holding opponents to 34.8 percent shooting.
Riley Brady anchors the Hendrix lineup, averaging 18.0 points and a conference-record 18.3 rebounds per game after setting the SCAC single-season rebounding mark. Chloey-Rei Brown adds 11.3 points per game, and Natalie Edmonson contributes 9.8 points per contest with 54 made three-pointers.
If CC faces No. 3 seed McMurry, the Tigers would encounter one of the conference's most explosive offensive teams. The War Hawks average 70.6 points per game and are led by Helana Chadwick, the SCAC scoring leader at 22.6 points per contest. Chadwick has knocked down 48 three-pointers and shoots over 80 percent from the free-throw line.
Aryana Cleveland adds 15.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, while Jordan Bravo contributes 11.9 points per outing with 59 made three-pointers. McMurry's ability to score at multiple levels presents a different challenge than Hendrix's interior-heavy approach.
AT THE HELM
Senior Kayla Mackel leads CC with 15.1 points per game and 42 made three-pointers while shooting 85.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Rayna Welsch adds 12.7 points per game and leads the team with 6.4 rebounds per contest, while Isa Nelson contributes 8.3 points per game with 32 three-pointers.
Andie Will directs the offense with a team-high 69 assists, and Naiya Kurnik provides rebounding depth at 7.1 boards per game.
