CC Carries 10-Game Win Streak To Abilene

Colorado College returns to the road this weekend for a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matchups, beginning Friday, Feb. 6, at McMurry at 6:30 p.m. MT before closing the trip Sunday, Feb. 8, at Schreiner at 1:00 p.m. MT. The Tigers enter the weekend riding a 10-game winning streak and remain unbeaten in conference play.

Last Time Out
The Tigers earned a 62–50 road victory at Texas Lutheran on Jan. 31. Senior Kayla Mackel led Colorado College with 29 points, while freshman Rayna Welsch added 12 points. Junior Naiya Kurnik pulled down nine rebounds as CC outrebounded Texas Lutheran 45–27 in the contest. The Tigers shot 45 percent from the field and limited Texas Lutheran to 34.6 percent shooting in the win.

At the Helm
Mackel leads the Tigers at 14.3 points per game, while Welsch averages 13.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest and is shooting 57.8 percent from the field. Mackel was named the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week and a member of the D3Hoops.com National Team of the Week for her performances last weekend. 

Junior Isa Nelson has made 25 three-pointers this season, and JuJu Garcia has connected on 26 from beyond the arc while shooting 90 percent from the free-throw line. As a team, Colorado College averages 64.4 points per game while allowing 56.5 and holds a rebounding advantage over opponents this season.

Scouting the Opposition
McMurry enters the weekend 13–4 overall and 7–2 in SCAC play. The War Hawks average 73.5 points per game while allowing 62.5. McMurry shoots 41.1 percent from the field and 31.9 percent from three-point range. Helana Chadwick leads the team at 23.1 points per game, while Aryana Cleveland averages 16.5 and Jordan Bravo adds 13.1 points per contest.

Schreiner is 6–11 overall and 3–5 in SCAC play. The Mountaineers average 59.6 points per game while allowing 65.4. Schreiner shoots 36.8 percent from the field and 28.4 percent from three-point range.
