Tigers Rout Schreiner to Open Spring Break Trip

The Colorado College women's tennis team opened its 2026 spring break trip with a dominating 7-0 victory over Schreiner University Friday in Kerrville, Texas.  
 
The Tigers, ranked 36th in the latest ITA Division III poll, lost just four games in sweeping the three doubles matches. Lucia Moravek and Aspen Young defeated Mackenzie Griffin and Katherine Bergeron, 6-1, in the No. 1 match, while Ally Lowe and Kala Komanduri downed Kinverly Ibarra and Mikinley Jamison, 6-3, at No. 2. Lindsay Popeo and Avery Hickman completed the sweep by blanking Maya Jackson and Sonnae Garcia, 6-0, at the No. 3 spot.              
 
CC (4-2, 2-0 SCAC) then captured all six singles matches in straight sets, including a 6-0, 6-0, victory by Komanduri over Ibarra at the No. 3 position. Young (No. 1) and Popeo (No. 6) each lost just one game in her match.
 
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, March 14, with another SCAC match against Texas Lutheran in Seguin, Texas, beginning at 10 a.m. (CT).
