Tigers Post Several Top-Five Finishes

The Colorado College men's track and field team split its squad between the War Hawk Classic in Abilene, Texas, and the Kit Mayer Classic in Golden, Colo.
 
At the War Hawk Classic, hosted by McMurry University, Oliver Smeal posted CC's best result with a second-place finish in the javelin with a heave of 189'11". Owen Shi placed seventh in the shot put with a toss of 47'.25", while Jonah Greenberg was ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 42'11.75".
 
At the Kit Mayer Classic, hosted by Colorado School of Mines, Vincent Mangat finished third in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 9:41.91, while Josh Williams placed fifth in the 400 in 48.19 and Diego Escalte seventh in the 5K in 15:50.78.
 
Huck Whittemore was 11th in the 800 with a time of 1:%7.17, while Mack Levy's time of 4:04.44 was good for 13th in the 1500.
 
The Tigers return to action next weekend at the Bryan Clay Invite, April 16-18, in Azusa, Calif., and the Colorado Mines Pre-Conference Meet, April 17-18, in Golden, Colo.
