Tigers Face #20 UChicago on Thursday, Then Two WIAC Games

The Colorado College women's lacrosse team heads back out on the road this weekend for three games. The Tigers will take a break from WIAC play to face 20th-ranked University of Chicago on Thursday, April 16, at 6 p.m. (CT, followed by a pair of conference contests at UW-Stevens Point on Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m. (CT) and UW-River Falls on Sunday, April 19, beginning at 11 a.m. (CT).

LAST TIME OUT
Colorado College, No. 26 in the latest NPI rankings, defeated Augsburg, 22-0, last Saturday, improving to 9-3 overall and 5-0 in the WIAC. The Tigers are tied with UW-River Falls atop the WIAC standings.
 
Grace Weber scored a season-high three goals, while Sofia Mancino, Charlotte Iler, Ella Roe, Maddie Jenks, Meilani Molina and Beatrix Nace each scored twice. Weber added two assists and Roe collected three as each produced a game-high five points.
 
The Tigers took command early, took a 10-0 lead after the first quarter, then scored six more times in the second.
 
Defensively, the Tigers controlled possession throughout, winning the ground ball battle, 17-1 and forcing 14 Auggie turnovers.
 
Senior goalkeeper Cassidy Schnaufer made one save in 30 minutes and also closed out the scoring with the first goal of her career. Freshman Natalie Bernstein did not have to make a save in her 30 minutes of action.
 
AT THE HELM
Iler leads the Tigers with 48 points on 37 goals and 11 assists, while Mancino adds 30 points on 24 goals and six assists. Elsa Greene has contributed 25 points on 21 goals and four assists, and Weber leads the team with 16 assists to go along with six goals for 22 points.
 
Defensively, Lydia Desrochers leads the Tigers with 15 caused turnovers, while Mancino has added 39 draw controls to help anchor possession. The Tigers have totaled 121 caused turnovers and 252 ground balls as a team.
 
In goal, Schnaufer has started all 12 games, posting an 8.63 goals-against average with 66 saves.
