No. 21 Tigers Take Care of Banana Slugs

The No. 21 Colorado College women's tennis team won its ninth straight match Thursday evening with a 6-1 victory over UC Santa Cruz in Frisco, Texas.  
 
The Tigers (16-3, 8-0 SCAC) lost the doubles point for the first time in the last five matches, as Lindsay Popeo and Avery Hickman at the No. 3 match over Emily Belezzuoli and Veronica Miller, 6-2.         
 
CC rallied to capture all six singles matches in straight sets, including a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the top spot by Aspen Young over Chloe Wu. Hickman dropped just two games at the No 5 spot, while Kala Komanduri (No. 3) and Lucia Moravek (No. 4) each lost three games.
 
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 18, with their final two matches of the regular season at Austin College and the University of Dallas.
