No. 25 Tigers Set To Face UW La-Crosse & Stout

No. 25 Colorado College continues WIAC play this weekend with a pair of road matchups, beginning at UW-La Crosse on Friday at 12 p.m. MT before traveling to UW-Stout on Saturday, April 4 at 10 a.m. MT.

LAST TIME OUT
Colorado College earned a dominant 19-3 victory over Hamline on Saturday, improving to 7-3 overall.

Freshman Elsa Greene led the Tigers with a career-high four goals, while junior Charlotte Iler added four goals and three assists for a game-high seven points. First-year Sofia Niklaus and first-year Beatrix Nace each recorded hat tricks with three goals apiece.

CC controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting Hamline 43-10 and holding advantages in shots on goal (30-6), ground balls (21-10) and draw controls (17-6).

AT THE HELM
CC enters the weekend at 6-3 overall and 2-0 in WIAC play, averaging 12.2 goals per game while allowing 9.8 per contest. The Tigers are shooting .444 as a team and have recorded 110 goals on 50 assists through nine games.

Charlotte Iler leads the Tigers with 38 points on 28 goals and 10 assists, while junior Sofia Mancino adds 23 points on 18 goals and five assists. Elsa Greene has contributed 18 points on 14 goals and four assists, and sophomore Grace Weber leads the team with 13 assists to go along with two goals for 15 points.

In the midfield, freshman Maddie Jenks has tallied 14 points (11 goals, three assists) while adding 16 ground balls and 13 draw controls. Senior Grace Bean has also contributed 12 points (10 goals, two assists) and a team-high 17 ground balls.

Defensively, first-year Sofia Niklaus leads the Tigers with 11 caused turnovers, while Mancino has added 27 draw controls to help anchor possession. The Tigers have totaled 91 caused turnovers and 180 ground balls as a team.

In goal, senior Cassidy Schnaufer has started all nine games, posting a 10.04 goals-against average with 60 saves.

NOTABLE
CC swept WIAC weekly honors following its opening weekend in conference play, as Charlotte Iler was named Offensive Player of the Week and Sofia Niklaus earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Iler totaled 11 points on seven goals and four assists across wins over Saint Benedict and Hamline, including a four-goal, three-assist performance against the Pipers while also surpassing the 200-point mark for her career.

Niklaus anchored the defensive effort with eight caused turnovers over the two games, including a career-high five against Hamline, while also contributing offensively with six goals on the weekend.

SCOUTING UW-LA CROSSE
UW-La Crosse enters the weekend with a 7-2 overall record and has won seven of its first nine games this season. The Eagles most recently fell 17-10 at UW-River Falls on April 1 after picking up a 21-5 win at UW-Stout on March 28.

UW-La Crosse features one of the top offenses in the WIAC, averaging 14.8 goals per game while allowing just 7.4 per contest. The Eagles are shooting .485 as a team and have totaled 133 goals on 49 assists through nine games.

Ava Schiltz leads the attack with 37 points on 29 goals and eight assists, while Megan Maloney adds 33 points on 25 goals and eight assists. Evie Brilz (19 goals, five assists) and Tori Katzenmeyer (17 goals, seven assists) provide additional scoring depth.

UW-La Crosse also controls possession with 131 draw controls compared to 89 by its opponents, led by Maloney with 46 and Schiltz with 26. Defensively, the Eagles have recorded 81 caused turnovers and 197 ground balls.

In goal, Stefania Rossi (5-1) and Lucretia Morgan (2-1) have split time, combining for a 7.35 goals-against average and a .455 save percentage.

SCOUTING UW-STOUT
UW-Stout enters the weekend with a 5-5 overall record and is still searching for its first WIAC win at 0-3 in conference play. The Blue Devils most recently dropped a 16-9 decision at UW-Stevens Point on April 1 after falling 21-5 to UW-La Crosse on March 28.

UW-Stout averages 12.8 goals per game while allowing 12.1 and has totaled 128 goals on 55 assists through 10 games. The Blue Devils are active offensively, averaging 31.9 shots per game and shooting .401 as a team.

Mai Nou Vang leads the attack with 58 points on 43 goals and 15 assists, while Megan Palmer adds 27 points (17 goals, 10 assists) and Brinley Tonn contributes 24 points (14 goals, 10 assists).

UW-Stout has also controlled possession with 150 draw controls compared to 112 by its opponents, led by Vang with 69 and Palmer with 32. Defensively, the Blue Devils have recorded 84 caused turnovers and 215 ground balls.

In goal, Emilia Bullock has seen the majority of minutes with 83 saves and a 13.61 goals-against average, while Anna Hron has posted a 6.29 goals-against average in limited action.
