Tigers Rout Centenary on Senior Day

The Colorado College men's lacrosse team wrapped up its regular season Saturday with a 27-4 victory over Centenary on Senior Day.
 
Senior Charlie Faldi collected career-highs with six goals and nine points to lead the Tigers, who won their sixth straight game and end the regular season with a 12-2 record.
 
Matt Hudson scored three times and Faldi added two goals and an assist in the first quarter as the Tigers jumped out to 10-0 lead after 15 minutes. Faldi chipped in with three goals and another assist in the second quarter and CC held a 17-1 advantage at halftime and never looked back.
 
Hudson, Luke Smith and Emmett Heissan each finished with three goals, while Quinn Gordon, Gavin Pope, Aidan Niklaus and Tim Browne each had a pair as the Tigers scored the most goals in one game since putting up 31 against Southwestern in the SCAC title game on May 2, 2021. Senior Charlie Madden added a career-high three points with a goal and two assists.
 
The Tigers played four goalies in the contest. Starter Robert Spence made three saves, as did Jackson Lesher, while Sam Rich had two and Quinn Kelly had one.
 
Colorado College outshot the Gents, 55-22, and put 36 shots on goal. Centenary starting keeper Jake Huff made six saves, while his backup, Ethan Young, made three. Noah Walsh led Centenary with three goals.
 
Faldi, Browne, Smith, Spence and Madden joined teammates Charlie Maier, Michael Ruffennach, Roman Tacelli, Trevor Mackles and Griffin Cusack in a pre-game ceremony prior to the 10 seniors' final game at Washburn Field.
 
The Tigers will wait and see if they qualify for the 2026 NCAA Division III Tournament, with the selection show set for Sunday, May 3, at 7 p.m.
