Klomparens, Santos Claim SCAC Titles For First-Place Tigers

Seniors Axel Klomparens and Luc Santos each won his first SCAC title Saturday on the second day of the 2026 SCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Abilene, Texas.
 
Klomparens won the 10K with a time of 33:07.14, while Santos captured the 3K steeplechase with a time of 9:51.60.
 
The Tigers are in first place entering the third and final day of the meet with 72 points, followed by Texas Luthern in second with 68 points and McMurry with 59.
 
Vincent Mangat and Eric Coombs earned all-SCAC honors by finishing second and third, respectively, in the steeplechase, while Dominic Schwein did the same with a third-place finish in the 10K and Owen Shi placed third in the shot put for the third straight year.
 
Rabbit Barnes and Matt Wells qualified for the finals of the 800 and Josh Williams did the same in the 200.
 
The championship meet resumes on Sunday, April 26, at 8 a.m. (CT).
