The 24
th-ranked Colorado College women's tennis team advanced to the final of the 2026 SCAC Tournament for the second straight year with a dominating 4-0 victory over Schreiner University Saturday morning in Kerrville, Texas.
The Tigers, the top seed in the SCAC Tournament, lost just two games in the three doubles matches.
Lindsay Popeo and
Avery Hickman got things started with a 6-0 victory over Maya Jackson and Sonnae Garcia at the No. 3 spot, then
Ally Lowe and
Kala Komanduri clinched the doubles point with a 6-1 win over Kinverly Ibarra and Mikinley Jamison at No. 2.
Lucia Moravek and
Aspen Young was beating Mackenzie Griffin and Katherine Bergeron, 2-1, in the No. 1 match when it was pulled off the court.
CC, which has won a program-high 12 consecutive matches, then quickly captured three singles matches, all in straight sets, to win the team match. Popeo was off first after blanking Garcia, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 6 position, while Moravek did the same to Bergeron at No. 4. Young clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Griffin at the top spot.
The Tigers (19-3), who made the SCAC finals in 2015 and 2025, will look for their first conference tournament title in program history on Sunday, April 26, against Concordia University, beginning at 9 a.m. (CT).
