Rabbit Barnes became just the second runner in SCAC history to win the conference's 1,500-meter race four times to lead the Colorado College men's track & field team to third-place finish at the 2026 SCAC Championships in Abilene, Texas.

Barnes won the 1500 with a time of 4:00.87, joining Chass Armstrong of Trinity (2007-10) as the only four-time winners of that race. CC's
Matt Wells finished second in 4:00.98, followed by teammate
Mack Levy, who was third in 4:01.33.

Barnes also finished second in the 800 on Sunday, clocking in at 1:53.67, while Wells was fourth in 1:56.73.

Axel Klomparens earned his second all-conference honor with a second-place finish in the 5K with a time of 15:32.31 and
Vincent Mangat was third in 15:39.38.

The 4x100 relay team consisting of Olive Smeal,
Josh Williams,
Griffin Stewart and
Jonah Greenberg finished third and set a school record with a time of 41.19 seconds.

Williams placed fifth in the 200 and Stewart sixth in the pole vault.
The Tigers finished with 134 points, behind meet champion McMurry with 152 points and runner-up Texas Lutheran with 145.

The Tigers will return to action at the Air Force Twilight Meet and the APU Franzen Last Chance Meet on May 8-9.
