Colorado College took home two major Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis awards, sophomore
Aspen Young as the Player of the Year and
Anthony Weber as Coach of the Year, following exclusive voting by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Â
Young, who was recently named the first alternate for the singles competition of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships, is 22-5 overall this season, including a 19-4 dual match record, all at the No. 1 position. She rolled through the SCAC regular season and tournament with a perfect 11-0 mark at the top spot and, along with teammates
Ally Lowe and
Lucia Moravek, broke the Colorado College school record for most singles wins in one season, surpassing Britt Swenson, who was 19-3 overall in 2008.
Â
At the 2026 SCAC Women's Tennis Championship two weekends ago, Young earned all-Tournament honors in singles for the second consecutive year. On the heels of leading her squad to the national tournament for just the second time in program history and first since 1986, Young, a six-time SCAC Player of the Week during the regular season (four-time selection for singles; twice for doubles), becomes the first CC women's player to earn SCAC Player of the Year honors.
Â
Weber, meanwhile, led the 25th-ranked Tigers to the 2026 SCAC championship match where the Tigers defeated Concordia University (Texas), 4-0, to earn the program's first-ever SCAC title. By virtue of its win, Colorado College (20-4) earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament – the program's first national tournament appearance since 1986. Colorado College rolled through the SCAC schedule this season without losing a team point in all 12 matches against league opponents.
Â
The award is the second for Weber, who earned his previous recognition following the 2014-15 season when he led CC to the first of its three total conference title appearances. He was also named the SCAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year, becoming the first conference coach to win both awards in the same season since Trinity's Butch Newman in 2004.
Â
In addition to Young, Lowe and
Kala Komanduri were named to the SCAC first-team for singles, while Moravek was a second-team selection. Lowe finished the season with a 22-4 overall record, including a 19-2 record at the No. 2 spot, while Komanduri was 15-3 this season, all coming at the No. 3 position. Moravek, meanwhile, was 22-4 and led the team with 20 dual match wins, most of them at the No. 4 spot.
Â
In doubles, Young and Moravek, who finished with a 16-6 dual-match record at the No. 1 spot, along with Komanduri and Lowe, who paired to go 13-3 at the No. 2 spot, were named to the SCAC doubles first-team.
