Colorado College puts its unblemished record on the line at home again this weekend when the Tigers entertain two more non-conference opponents in inter-regional action at Stewart Field.
The Tigers meet Long Island University at 4 p.m. MT Friday, then take on Ball State University in an 11 a.m. contest on Sunday. The games are the final two of five consecutive on the CC campus for head coach
Geoff Bennett and his team before they play on foreign turf for the last three weekends in September. They're off to a 3-0 start in 2008 after blanking Valparaiso University (1-0) last Friday and rallying from an early deficit to defeat Idaho State University (2-1) on Sunday.
Long Island also is 3-0, representing its best start ever, after a pair of home-field victories against Binghamton (1-0 in overtime) and Delaware State (5-1) last weekend. Ball State, which plays at Air Force on Friday, is 0-2 after losing at the University of Oklahoma (2-1) on Sunday. The Cardinals also fell to Valparaiso (1-0) in their season opener on Aug. 22.
This weekend's matches will mark Colorado College's first ever against both opponents, with Long Island competing in the Northeast Region and Ball State the Great Lakes.
