Colorado College defeated Southwestern University in the fifth-place match on Sunday morning to record it's best-ever finish at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
CC's 6-3 victory was its sixth in the last eight matches and the Tigers finished the season with a 9-10 record.
Colorado College grabbed a 2-1 lead after Natalie Donnelly and Erin Yamamoto pulled out a 9-8 decision at No. 2 doubles. Britt Swenson and Jordan Evans earned CC's first point with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles.
Evans added a second point with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles. Deanna Thirkell won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and Sally Bryant concluded her career with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles.
