Colorado College dropped all three doubles points for just the third time this season and was unable to overcome the deficit in a 6-3 loss to Luther College on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite playing its third match in two days, the Tigers were still within a handful of points of pulling out the victory.
Will Lindsay put the Tigers on the board with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles, but the Norse clinched the match with narrow victories at the second and third contests.
Sam Barnard rallied for a 4-6, 7-5, 6-0 triumph at No. 6 singles, while Nate Burt came from behind for a 5-7, 6-1, 10-8 win over Harrison Whitley in the No. 1 match.
“After dropping all three doubles matches we had put ourselves at a big disadvantage,” head coach Naren Clark said. “The seven hours of tennis the day before was definitely visible in our movement and energy on court, but we still hung tough in most of the doubles and had chance at both 1 and 2.”
Colorado College plays the last of its five matches in Florida on Wednesday afternoon against Calvin College.
