Colorado College split a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches on Saturday, posting a 6-0 victory over Millsaps College in the morning before falling to Southwestern University by a 6-3 count in the afternoon.
Jordan Evans won a pair of matches for the sixth time this season, teaming with Deanna Thirkell for an 8-1 triumph at No. 1 doubles and then clinching the team win in a super tie-breaker to claim a 6-2, 0-6, 10-6 decision at No. 1 singles.
Maddy Bush and Caila Criss won all eight points in a match for the first time to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead heading into the individual matches.
Tori Marsh won her third match in a row, the first by a 6-0, 6-0 count, at No. 4 singles, while Erin Yamamoto cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3.
Katie Patterson worked the hardest, surviving a first-set tie breaker before finishing off the match 7-6 (7-2), 6-3.
Evans and Thirkell won for the eighth time in the last 10 matches by claiming an 8-3 decision at No. 1 doubles, but CC lost the next two matches to trail 2-1.
Patterson kept the Tigers in the match by coming from behind to claim a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles, her sixth consecutive victory and team-leading 10th of the season.
After the Pirates earned their fourth point at No. 2 singles, Deanna Thirkell kept Colorado College in the match with a 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 triumph at No.1, but Southwestern won the last two points to take the match.
The Tigers conclude their three-match trip to Texas on Sunday morning against Austin College.
