Rewoldt, Tigers top Centenary, 88-79

Box Score Colorado College's lone senior Ian Rewoldt had his best game of his career while playing his final game in Reid Arena on Saturday night.
 
Rewoldt scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds for his third double-double of the season to lead the Tigers to an 88-79 victory over Centenary College in CC's home finale.
 
The first 20 minutes of the game saw a battle of wills between the Gents and the Tigers as the teams exchanged leads 13 times and tied the score nine times.
 
Centenary saw its final lead with 38 seconds left in the first half when Drew Erskine drained a shot from long range to give the Gents a 33-31 lead.
 
The Tigers tied the game when junior Ryan Milne dished a pass to junior Chris Mayo-Smith for a layup with 28 seconds remaining. Milne gave CC its final lead with nine ticks left on the clock when he drove in for a layup to give the Tigers a 35-33 lead at intermission.
 
CC came out on fire in the second half when sophomore Chris Lesnansky hit a jumper eight seconds in to the half to ignite a 20-7 run and give the Tigers their largest lead of the game at 55-40 with 12:55 remaining in the game.
 
The final half consisted of 37 fouls which sent the two teams to the charity stripe 54 times. Centenary fouled CC 23 times to give the Tigers 39 attempts. CC made 32 of its 39 attempts to earn more than half of its second half points from the free-throw line.
 
Lesnansky earned his third double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds to aid the Tigers. Milne dished out a team-high four assists and scored 13 points, while freshman Justin Berardino also scored in double figures with 10 points. 
     
Jonathan Blount led Centenary with 21 points, while JaColby Hardin-Crawford added 11 points. Brett Bell led the defense with 10 rebounds.
 
With the win Colorado College improved to 14-9 on the season and 10-3 in conference play, while the Gents dropped to 8-14 and 4-10 in league play.
 
The Tigers return to the road to close out the season as they take on Trinity University on Feb. 15 and Southwestern on Feb. 17.
